Iran unveils Persian carpet for FIFA Museum

Iran has unveiled a hand-woven Persian carpet that is going to be dedicated to the FIFA Museum.

Iran has unveiled a hand-woven Persian carpet that is going to be dedicated to the FIFA Museum on the sideline of the 2022 World Cup.

The carpet is adorned with various national flags as well as iconic monuments of the countries present during the World Cup.

Two different versions of the carpet are right now being woven in Tabriz, which has long been a thriving hub for hand-woven carpets.

One of the carpets will be presented to the emir of Qatar while the second one will be kept in a museum in the Islamic Republic of Iran with the third one presented to FIFA Museum.

According to Iran officials, an exhibition of Iranian handicrafts and hand-woven carpets is also planned to be held on the sidelines of the Qatar World Cup.

Doha will also host five more Iranian exhibitions in the fields of food, furniture and chandeliers, decoration, construction materials, clothing, Islamic fashion, hotel and catering, and technical and engineering services, the officials added.

Iran football team became the 14th team to make way into the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Iran’s hand-woven carpets have worldwide fame for their delicate designs and good quality.

The most characteristic feature of all types of Persian rugs is believed to be a medallion pattern where it may represent an open lotus blossom with several petals.
